Luke 5-6
Observation: Jesus prayed often (5:16) and then all night (6:12). If Jesus prayed this way in general and before making a big decision, how much more do I need to pray?
Question: What was Jesus saying with the parable of the wineskins? Jesus was communicating that He was not “patching” Judaism as if to make it a little better. He was bringing about a whole new covenant. The problem was that the Jews were happy with old wine.
Application: I want to do what God says even if it doesn’t make sense to me (like Peter putting the nets out again).
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I praise You that You forgive sin and that You cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

Day 3 Luke 6:23. “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in Heaven”. This verse stood out to me because of a daily devotional I’m doing “Choosing Joy”. No matter what we’re going through we have to stay focused and be intentional on choosing joy! Our reward is not here on earth but in Heaven!
