Chapter 13, verses 9-10 are challenging. God tells His people they may be killed by persecutors. He doesn’t offer any other explanation other than the encouragement that this calls for us to patiently endure through the difficulty.
Chapter 12, verse 11 tells us how Michael and his angles are able to throw Satan out of heaven: And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
First by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus’ victory on the cross is our victory as well. Jesus’ blood is our ammunition in our fight against Satan. Then by our testimony, our faithful witness of the overpowering of God’s strength in our lives conquers the Devil’s lies that try to discourage us. Finally, a willingness to die before denying the love of God and Jesus’ sacrifice. An example of how we defeat Satan even today.
